Learn Spanish Language / Culture
Ericka Orozco 2015-Present. Ericka was one of those amazing surprises in my life that I believe God used (and continues to use) to save me. I believe we met before 2017, but we became friends on the 2017 Guatemala Trip and during that trip became romantically involved as well. Ericka doesn’t speak Engish and Bob doesn’t speak Spanish, so communicating is “fun”. We are both continuing to seek God’s leading in our realtionship as I am situated with kids in the San Francisco area and she is situated with kids in the Jalapa area. Only God knows what the future holds for “us”. Even so, we have had some very special and very memorable times together, and I will forever be in her debt. One example is our day together in Antigua at the end of the 2017 Mission Trip. Five of us (Ericka & her 5/6 yr olds, Bob, chaperone) spent the full day sight seeing through the beautiful streets and buildings of Antigua — most of the day Ericka / Bob holding hands, enjoying one another’s company. This was especially meaningful to Bob because he had recently gone through a divorce and was really missing his two teenage daughters. It was really good to see Ericka again this year 2023 and spend time with her. We keep in touch primarily through FACEBOOK MESSENGER.
Ericka Orozco 2015-Presente. Ericka fue una de esas sorpresas asombrosas en mi vida que creo que Dios usó (y continúa usando) para salvarme. Creo que nos conocimos antes de 2017, pero nos hicimos amigos en el viaje a Guatemala de 2017 y durante ese viaje también nos involucramos sentimentalmente. Ericka no habla inglés y Bob no habla español, por lo que comunicarse es “divertido”. Ambos seguimos buscando la dirección de Dios en nuestra relación, ya que yo estoy con niños en el área de San Francisco y ella está con niños en el área de Jalapa. Sólo Dios sabe lo que nos depara el futuro a “nosotros”. Aun así, hemos tenido momentos muy especiales y muy memorables juntos, y siempre estaré en deuda con ella. Un ejemplo es nuestro día juntos en Antigua al final del viaje misionero de 2017. Cinco de nosotros (Ericka y sus hijos de 5/6 años, Bob, acompañante) pasamos todo el día recorriendo las hermosas calles y edificios de Antigua, la mayor parte del día Ericka / Bob tomados de la mano, disfrutando de la compañía del otro. Esto fue especialmente significativo para Bob porque recientemente se había divorciado y extrañaba mucho a sus dos hijas adolescentes. Fue muy bueno volver a ver a Ericka este año 2023 y pasar tiempo con ella. Nos mantenemos en contacto principalmente a través de FACEBOOK MESSENGER.
I am very very eager to learn the Spanish Language and I know that “what we do not use – we lose”, so I need a spanish friend to talk to on a regular basis to inspire me in this endeavor. A spanish friend that is beautiful and full of God’s love might just be “what the doctor ordered” 🙂 PLEASE PRAY FOR US…
Estoy muy ansioso por aprender el idioma español y sé que “lo que no usamos, lo perdemos”, así que necesito un amigo español con quien hablar regularmente para inspirarme en este esfuerzo.
