WOMEN’S ORDINATION
1 Corinthians 12:4-10
King James Version
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: I Corinthians 12:4-10
I am not trained in the study of the Bible – but as far as I can see there are no bible verses that explicitly talk about women being pastors or the process of selecting and ordaining men and women as pastors.
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1Corinthians 14:34-35.
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1 Timothy 2:11-12 King James Version
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28 King James Version (witness to the “new community” that Christ makes possible; Seedbed Ben Wayman)
TRADITION
- Jesus selected twelve men – does that mean ONLY MEN SHOULD BE SELECTED ??; also selected only JEWS .
- In heaven will there be the process of ordaining Pastors ??
- If your daughter wanted to dedicate her life to preaching the “Good News Of Jesus Christ”, would you tell her ‘sorry honey but you as a woman you cannot’ (do you see Jesus telling that to His daughter ??)
Nothing is said in the Bible whether only men or only women should preach. It sounds like all are called to “Go ye and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them …”. Certainly in heaven both men and women will be teaching and preaching. I would say I also believe certainly in the time “post midnight cry” with the outpouring of the latter rain that both men and women will be preaching the Three Angels Message. Why not now ?? We are closer and closer to that midnight cry.
